What is the Chaplet of Virtues?
🌿The Chaplet of Virtues - Marian prayer for 7 holy virtues of Mary is a daily spiritual practice entrusted to us for these times. It invites us to deepen our relationship with God by embracing seven foundational virtues: faith, hope, charity, humility, patience, perseverance, and obedience. Rooted in Marian consecration and enriched by Scripture, this devotion draws the heart into alignment with the Immaculate Heart of Mary and opens the soul to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
As we walk this path of virtue, may we reflect the light of Christ in the world and become a living testimony of His transforming grace.
But what happens when prayer becomes dry, or when we face a struggle we cannot name? After praying the Chaplet of Virtues daily, there comes a time when we need to deepen our focus or renew our intention. This is when meditating on Scripture can anchor us more firmly in each virtue, illuminating their meaning in our own lives.
Below, you'll find biblical passages and reflections on the seven virtues of Mary—scripture-based meditations to accompany and strengthen your daily devotion.
Chaplet of Virtues – Marian Prayer for 7 Holy Virtues
Each virtue is followed by a short Scripture to reflect on.
1. Faith "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is trusting deeply in God's promises, even when we can't yet see the outcome. This verse reminds us that faith isn't just a feeling—it’s a confident assurance and inner certainty about the things we hope for and believe, even if they’re invisible to our eyes. It’s the foundation of our spiritual journey, helping us to walk with God through the unknown.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit:
Come Holy Spirit, enlighten my heart, to see the things which are of God. Come Holy Spirit, into my mind, that I may know the things that are of God. Come Holy Spirit, into my soul, that I may belong only to God. Sanctify all that I think, say, and do, that all will be for the glory of God. Amen.
2. Hope "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope byy the power of the Holy Spirit ." (Romans 15:13)
Hope is a gift from God that fills our hearts with joy and peace when we place our trust in Him. This verse shows that true hope doesn’t come from circumstances, but from the Holy Spirit working within us. As we rely on God, He fills us so completely that hope overflows from us—even in difficult times—bringing light and encouragement to others.

3. Charity "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8)
Charity (Love) is the highest virtue, and this verse calls us to love one another deeply and sincerely. Such love is not just emotion—it’s active, forgiving, and healing. When we truly love, we reflect God’s mercy, and our love can mend relationships, ease pain, and help others experience grace. It reminds us that love has the power to transform hearts and cover even great wrongs.

4. Humility "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6)
Humility is recognizing our need for God and living with a heart that’s open, gentle, and dependent on Him. This verse reminds us that pride builds walls between us and God, but humility draws us closer to His grace. When we let go of self-importance and rely on God, He lifts us up and pours His favor into our lives.

5. Patience "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." (Romans 12:12)
Patience is the quiet strength to endure challenges without losing heart. This verse encourages us to stay joyful in hope, to remain patient when troubles come, and to stay connected to God through constant prayer. Patience isn’t passive—it’s an active trust that God is at work, even when we can’t see immediate results. It helps us wait with faith and perseverance.

Perseverance is the commitment to keep doing good, even when it’s hard or we don’t see quick results. This verse reminds us not to give up—God sees our efforts, and in His perfect timing, there will be a harvest. Perseverance keeps us moving forward in faith, trusting that every small act of goodness matters and will bear fruit.

7. Obedience "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it." (Luke 11:28)
Obedience is listening to God’s Word and choosing to live by it. This verse shows that true blessing comes not just from hearing God's message, but from putting it into action. Obedience is a response of love and trust—it aligns our lives with God’s will and opens our hearts to His grace and guidance.
