Blessings

Ruminatio: meditating on Scripture is the simple, ancient practice of slowly returning to a word or phrase from the Bible until it begins to sink deeper into the heart. I discovered that I had been doing this long before I knew its name, carrying Scripture with me through walks, sleepless nights, ordinary moments, pain, and gratitude. Sometimes one little sentence is enough.

I also know that what I say doesn’t just come from my heart - it also shapes my heart. My words can nourish and uplift, or they can wound and tear down. They can bring good fruit or leave only emptiness. Jesus reminds me: "I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37

Words are powerful seeds. They grow, return, and shape the world around us. This reflection explores how our words—spoken with love or criticism—impact our hearts, relationships, and faith journey. When we pause to speak with intention and grace, our lives begin to mirror God’s peace.

If holiness had a scent, I think it would be the smell of morning coffee - warm, comforting, real. Between laundry and conversations, in the humdrum of household chores, God is quietly at work, giving eternal meaning to the smallest acts of love.

God's Word is waiting for us, like a letter from a dear friend. And when we finally open it, we realize that peace was there all along. A Prayer for Peace Lord, when my heart is restless, whisper Your truth to me. When my thoughts are racing, slow me down with Your peace.

Sometimes I wonder what God’s Word is really changing in me. Not in grand, visible ways, but in the small spaces of ordinary life. Slowly, I’m learning to notice these little traces of grace. Even my imperfect moments can become places where God meets me. Scripture is teaching me gratitude - not only for what I have received, but even while I am still waiting.
