Jesus, I Trust in You – St. Faustina’s Tender Dialogue of the Soul

I pray for myself to be able to trust in Jesus as well as for those who commend themselves to my prayers.

St. Faustina, DIARY, 317

How often do I whisper, “Jesus, I trust in You”? How often do I offer it to others, especially when their faces are heavy with sadness or confusion, as if those words are a balm for wounds I cannot see?

This year, that simple phrase has become my lifeline. My theme. My anchor. TRUST.

Two decades ago, I first encountered St. Faustina’s Diary.

I remember feeling overwhelmed by the beauty, the mystical depth, the almost unbearable intimacy between Jesus and Faustina. It was hard to grasp how a soul could suffer and yet remain so tender, so trusting. I felt drawn to that sacred space between them, where silence was filled with love, and love required surrender.

A couple in formal wear holds hands; woman carries flowers. Polish text overlays the image. Energetic setting with orange and gray tones.

Faustina’s trust didn’t come from comfort. It came from an encounter.

She knew the Jesus who enters locked rooms and whispers peace. The Jesus who gazes into our fear and still says, “Come.” Her Diary is not just a book—it is a conversation, a doorway, a mirror.

Every time I open it, it feels like Jesus is waiting again, not with condemnation, but with sympathy. Divine, radiant sympathy. The kind that looks at your trembling hands and still places His in them.

And it changes me. Slowly, deeply.

I’ve learned that trust isn’t a concept—it’s a posture.

It’s the way my soul leans when I don’t know what tomorrow holds. It’s the way I pray when I have no answers, only questions. It’s what I whisper when someone I love is in pain, and all I can offer is prayer.

Trust as a Vocation of the Heart

Like Faustina, I’ve come to believe that trust is a kind of vocation. A lifelong calling. And as she wrote in #317, she prayed not just for others, but for herself, to be able to trust Jesus more. Even this saint, who saw visions and received direct revelations, asked for help in trusting. That gives me peace.

Because trust isn’t a one-time achievement. It’s a daily choice.

Sometimes it’s strong and confident. Other times, it’s barely a flicker. But even the flicker is enough when it’s directed at the Lord of Mercy.

A Gentle Invitation

So if today your trust feels small, know that Jesus doesn’t need perfection. He just needs your yes. And He will do the rest.

St. Faustina once wrote that even the weakest soul can become a vessel of mercy if it simply trusts. I believe that. I’ve lived it.

So I return again and again to her Diary—not as a scholar, but as a daughter. And in the quiet of the pages, I remember who I am. Loved. Seen. Held.

And I say it once more, with all my heart: Jesus, I trust in You.

Reflection Questions

🌸 How is God inviting me to trust Him more deeply today?

🌸 What fears or doubts am I holding that I need to surrender into His Sacred Heart?

🌸 Can I trust like Faustina—not because I understand, but because I believe in His love?

Invitation to Respond:

🌸 If this reflection speaks to your heart, I invite you to share it with someone who needs hope today.

🌸 And if you’re walking through a season of difficulty, open St. Faustina’s Diary. Let her voice and Jesus’ mercy meet you where you are.

Beloved Faustina, please, help me to learn to trust in Jesus with my whole heart. Teach me and the women who also desire and need more trust in God to find refuge in Jesus' heart.

Thank you, sister Faustina, for your intercession. Thank You, Lord Jesus. I love You!

Let’s keep walking this journey of trust together.🌸

Jesus, I trust in You. 🌸

In addition, in many statements, the Lord Jesus generally addresses the soul, that is, each of us can receive these WORDS for ourselves. Jesus' love and sympathy are incredible, trust-building and wonderful!

From this source, I learned about God's Mercy, and I am still learning to trust Him. WORDS: "Jesus, I trust in You!" save a life, literally, here on Earth and in eternity. I recommend reading Faustina’s DIARY, particularly when you are facing a difficult situation, or when you feel sad, or lost. Just open the DIARY and read, talk with Jesus and Faustina. They want to help you. You just have to ask.
