Morning Glory Prayer for Gratitude - Spiritual Reflection & Jungian Psychology

Every day is a new day, every day is a new start and opportunity to love - it is a gift of life!

Awaken to the gift of a new day with the Morning Glory Prayer, a reflection on gratitude, Scripture, and personal transformation.

Start your day with gratitude through the Morning Glory Prayer.

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24

🌿Morning Glory Prayer: Awakening to Gratitude

As the morning light gently unfolds, I awaken to the gift of a new day. Rather than rushing into its rhythm, I pause—grateful for breath, for being, for the divine spark within me.

Before diving into tasks, I take a moment to settle into stillness. I inhale deeply, letting the air fill my lungs, a reminder of the Spirit’s life-giving presence. I exhale, releasing yesterday’s worries, making room for grace.

Gratitude is not just an emotion; it is a posture of the soul, a conscious turning toward the goodness that already surrounds me.

In this simple act of awareness, I join the psalmist in joyful affirmation:

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24

Not a vague, distant promise—but this day, right here, with all its unknowns and ordinary moments. I choose to rejoice in it. Not because every circumstance is perfect, but because God's presence makes it sacred.

I repeat this verse slowly, allowing its truth to settle into my heart. Each word carries weight:

This day, not yesterday, not tomorrow.

The Lord has made it; therefore, it is already blessed.

Let us rejoice—joy is a choice, a sacred act of trust.

What if today we didn’t chase peace, but received it? What if we didn’t strive for joy, but noticed it, waiting quietly in small things?

🌿Prayer of Gratitude

Lord, I lift my heart to You in thanksgiving.

For the light that chases away darkness,

For the air that fills my lungs,

For the unseen grace that sustains me.

Teach me to see Your presence in all things—

In the laughter of a friend,

In the stillness of the morning,

In the lessons hidden within trials.

May my soul awaken, not to worry, but to wonder.

Not to burdens, but to blessings.

Not to fear, but to faith.

Wisdom from Alicja Lenczewska

"Live in gratitude. See how many gifts surround you. Gratitude opens your heart to My presence and teaches you to love."

I reflect on these words. Gratitude is not merely an acknowledgment of blessings but a spiritual disposition that attunes me to the divine.

When I live in thankfulness, my perception shifts—I become more aware of God’s love permeating even the smallest moments.

🌿Gratitude as a Path to Individuation

Carl Jung taught that individuation—the journey to becoming our true self—requires an integration of all parts of our psyche. Gratitude is one of the most powerful tools in this process because it allows us to embrace life as it is, rather than resist it.

In Jungian psychology, the Shadow represents the hidden or rejected aspects of the self. Often, our inability to feel gratitude stems from unacknowledged wounds. We focus on what we lack, rather than what we have. But true wholeness requires integration—learning to see even our struggles as meaningful.

When I express gratitude for my trials, I transform suffering into wisdom.

When I acknowledge the lessons within my pain, I invite healing.

When I shift from resentment to thankfulness, I reclaim lost parts of myself.

🌿 A Morning Ritual of Gratitude

To embody this prayer, I commit to a simple practice each morning:

1. Stillness – I take a few deep breaths, becoming fully present.

2. Scripture Meditation – I read Psalm 118:24 slowly, repeating it like a mantra.

3. Threefold Gratitude – I name:

🌸One thing I am grateful for in my personal life.

🌸One lesson from a difficult situation.

🌸One small blessing I might have overlooked.

4. Integration – I ask: What is gratitude teaching me about myself today?

🌿Closing Prayer

Lord, as I step into this day, let gratitude be my guide.

Open my eyes to the beauty around me,

Open my heart to the love You pour into my life,

And may I, in turn, reflect that love to the world.

Amen.

🌿Reflect with Me:

  • What does it look like for you to rejoice and be glad in this day, exactly as it is?

  • How can you start your mornings with gratitude instead of urgency?

🌿Call to Share:

If this reflection touched your heart, consider sharing it with a friend who needs a gentle reminder to slow down and breathe today.

Sometimes, the simplest words of scripture can awaken the deepest hope.

PS.Threefold Gratitude Samples:

🌸 One thing I am grateful for in my personal life: The quiet of the morning before the house wakes up – a moment when I can simply be with myself and with God, without rush.

🌸 One lesson from a difficult situation: When someone close to me let me down, I learned that my heart is stronger than I thought – and that I can love from a distance without losing my kindness.

🌸 One small blessing I might have overlooked: The smile of a stranger in a store that brightened my day, even though it only lasted a second.

🌸🌸 One thing I am grateful for in my personal life: A conversation with a friend who doesn’t judge, but truly listens – even when I can’t understand myself.

🌸🌸One lesson from a difficult situation: When I had to let go of something I deeply cared about, I realized that sometimes it’s not about loss, but about the space God is preparing for something better.

🌸🌸 One small blessing I might have overlooked: The smell of freshly cooked soup – a sign of care that I often take for granted.
